Miho Hirai, harpsichord
Miho Hirai studied piano with Nobutatsu Kawashima andgraduated at the Tohogakuen University in Tokyo. Later on she studied harpsichord with Chiyoko Arita and chamber music with Masahiro Arita on the Toho Gakuen College Music Department Graduate Course. From 1994 to 1997 she studied harpsichord with Jaques Ogg and chamber music with the Kuijken’s at the Royal Conservatory in Den Haag (Holland) for her post- graduate Diploma. She performed in various European cities and at Festivals such as the Holland Festival of Early Music Utrecht and the Haags Gemeentemuseum. In 1997 she returned to Japan where she is kept busy with concerts and recordings.  She has appeared on TV in a programme on gesture in Handel’s Operas for The university of the air and has lectured on Handel’s Sonatas for violin at the Daito Bunka University. She also recorded “Affetti cantabili” for Entrée receiving an excellent review in The record Geijutsu magazine.
 She is appreciated for her accuracy of style and original ideas in practising continuo, and has played with Japanese ensembles such as Conversum Musicum, Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa, and with the cellist Ludovit Kanta both in concerts and in recordings. She plays with La fête galante and has made two CDs of 18th century French music, “Les plaisirs de Paris” and “La fête galante”.

  Miho Hirai ha studiato pianoforte con Nobutatsu Kawashima, laureandosi presso la Toho Gakuen University di Tokyo. Successivamente ha studiato clavicembalo con  Chiyoko Arita e musica da camera con Masahiro Arita presso il Toho Gakuen College Music Department Graduate Course. Dal 1994 al 1997 si è perfezionata in clavicembalo con Jaques Ogg eha studiato musica da camera con i fratelli Kuijken presso il Royal Conservatory di Den Haag in Olanda, ottenendo il post graduate Diploma.Ha tenuto concerti in diverse città  europee suonando in festival quali Holland Festival Early Music Utrecht e al Haags Gemeentemuseum. Nel 1997 è tornata in Giappone, dove attualmente svolge intensa attività concertistica e discografica. Ha registrato per la televisione un programma sulla gestualità nelle opere di Handel per The University of the air e ha tenuto conferenze sulle Sonate per violino di Handel presso la Daito Bunka University.   Ha registrato per la casa discografica Entrée un disco dal titolo“Affetti cantabili” ottimamente recensito in The record geijutsu magazine. Specialista del basso continuo per la precisione dello stile  e la varietà delle idee, viene richiesta da gruppi giapponesi quali Conversum Musicum, Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa, e dal violoncellista Ludovit Kanta sia per concerti sia per registrazioni. E' clavicembalista del gruppo di La fête galante con cui ha registrato due dischi “Les Plaisirs de Paris” e ”La fête galante” dedicati alla musica francese del XVIII secolo.
